Hello BBT families!
Welcome to BBT's 35th annual production of The Nutcracker! We are so excited to have all of you participating in the show and look forward to working with both new and familiar faces! If this is your family’s first Nutcracker, I know it can be overwhelming, and I’m hoping the information below will help get things started. I am always available to answer questions by email so please don’t hesitate to reach out!
Attached to this email are the cast list and the rehearsal schedule for tomorrow and next weekend. They will also be posted at the studio. Please review the cast list and then check the rehearsal schedule for the dates/times that correspond with your dancer's roles. All dancers have at least 2 different roles, and your dancer may have different roles in different casts. I suggest opening the cast list pdf on a computer and using the Ctrl+F function (or command+F on Mac) to find each time your dancer's name appears. You don't want to miss any of their roles!
At this time, there are only 2 weeks set on the rehearsal schedule, but more dates will be released soon, so keep an eye out for updates. The costume fitting schedule is listed to the right of the schedule in blue. Fittings are always scheduled before or after rehearsal times to minimize trips to the studio. Please make every effort to have your dancer at each of their rehearsals. If there is ever a conflict or your dancer is sick, and they need to miss a rehearsal, let us know in advance by contacting me at giannazahner@gmail.com. Attendance is very important as each dancer is part of the team and if someone is missing it affects everyone in their dance. Our rehearsal time is limited and it is difficult to make up for a missed rehearsal. Our YouTube channel will also be coming soon where dancers can watch and review their choreography.
Please don’t forget there is a mandatory parent meeting tomorrow, Saturday, September 6th, from 1:30-2:30 PM at the Benicia Ballet Studio. There will be a lot of important and helpful information shared there in regards to volunteering, fundraising, rehearsals, and other details that will help us have a great Nutcracker season.
Please also note that important information about casting, rehearsals, volunteering, performances, tickets, and any changes will be communicated through email (specifically to the email you registered with), so please check in frequently to ensure you do not miss anything. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to me, Gianna Zahner, via email at giannazahner@gmail.com.
Thank you!!
