Dress Code

Ballet is a discipline and as such we ask students to arrive to class properly groomed and attired before they enter the classroom.  Hair should be secured away from the face, preferably in a bun (bobby pins, gel, spray, hair-net).  No jewelry except small earrings.

 

Pre-Ballet/Primary: Plain pink leotards, no attached skirts.  Pull-on skirts ok (white or pink).  Pink or skin toned footed tights and ballet slippers.

 

Ballet 1&2:  Light blue leotards, no attached skirts. Pink or skin toned footed or transitional tights and ballet slippers.

 

Ballet 3:  Black leotards. Pink or skin toned footed or transitional tights and ballet slippers. 

 

Teen/Adult Ballet Technique:  Solid color leotard and tights with pink, black, or skin toned ballet slippers.  Chiffon skirts, t-shirts and sweaters ok.

 

Contemporary: Comfortable solid color leotard and tights, bike shorts, or leggings for ease of movement.  No jeans. 

 

Boys: Black leggings or bike shorts, white t-shirt, white or black socks to match white or black slippers.  

 

Gender neutral alternative for all: Black leotard and pink or skin toned tights OR white crew neck dance t-shirt and black leggings.      

Tap 3-9yrs:  Black flat tap shoe.

Tap 9yrs+: Black tap oxford.

Jazz: Tan Jazz shoes, shorts or leggings and a form fitting shirt.

Hip Hop: Loose, comfortable clothes that are easy to move in. NEW Tennis shoes only to be worn in the studio. Shoes worn in from off the street will not be permitted on the floor.​

Acro: Form-fitting clothes; leotards or shorts and a shirt. Bare foot or jazz shoes preferred.

Stretch and Strength: Class leotard and tights. Close fitting shorts can be worn over tights. Hair can be in pony tail.

Parent and Me: Comfortable clothes to move in.  Ballet slippers for young dancers for ballet and Black flat tap shoe for Tap.  Parents can have ballet slippers and/or tap shoes or wear socks.
